What causes tinnitus that millions of folks suffer from? It is actually unable to prove the exact cause of ringing sound in the ear, though there are some precipitating causes known. Many think that tinnitus may be the causal factor in individuals becoming anxious and depressed, however, these issues may be the reason why symptoms worsen. Tinnitus can be caused by numerous types of medications,such those used in treatment of cancer,excessive aspirin,water pills,antibiotics,Quinine. Intermittent or continuous sounds can be heard.

The reasons for the pulsatile tinnitus is given below: • Increase of blood pressure due to hypertension, stress, caffeine etc. Aging or cholesterol build-up is due to having Atherosclerosis. Tumors that present themselves on the neck or head. Ill-formed capillaries forming in between the arteries & the veins. There are conditions that can cause an unstable blood flow. Tinnitus can also result from exposure to loud sounds and from ongoing health problems. Any loud noise can harm your ears, especially if there is repeated and regular exposure to it. This is the reason for which ear plugs are used if you work around machines or spend long time in listening to loud music. Regarding the protection of your ears, short-term exposure to loud noises may cause only temporary problems, where as long-term exposure can do permanent damage.

The risk of developing tinnitus can be reduced when you take care of your health. To protect your hearing, always avoid loud noises, eat a proper diet and follow a regular exercise program. If you ride a motorcycle or participate in things which are likely to damage your head and neck, be certain to use a helmet. Your risk of tinnitus will be decreased if you take good care of your ears and overall health.
